Often the prints I make are arrangements of several components which are then composed on the press bed as I print and over print. The components in this case are:

• Leaves collected from trees on my street on the way to the studio. If selected to contribute to the boxed set I have permission to use leaves from the Witness Trees.
• A print of my hand either directly from rolled out ink or indirectly from a soft ground etching on aluminium plate - standing in for human intervention in the trees' environment.
• A randomly generated image of the chains of particles that form soot produced by custom code (I've made this available online at my Neocites page and my GitHub page).
• Carbon particles applied to the print by repurposing the studio plate smoking corner. If selected I plan to use leaves from the actual witness trees and whichever elements are used in the selected test print, although I could use any other combination if required.
